Microsoft Word Citation Tool


Place text cursor after words you want to cite/reference, then:

  1. References tab
  2. Make sure next to Style, APA is selected
  3. Insert citation -> Add New Source
  4. Choose Type of Source (i.e. Book, Journal, Website, etc.)
  5. Fill in fields
  6. Click OK.



Citation will appear where text cursor was in document.

To the right of Insert Citation is Bibliography. You can choose Bibliography, References or Works Cited depending on what your assignment requires as your end of document list of sources.
